This product is a square corundum (high-alumina) honeycomb ceramic designed to work both as a coating/wash-coat substrate and as a high-temperature decorative panel. Compared with ordinary cordierite, the corundum body offers higher hot-strength, higher temperature tolerance (up to 1400 °C) and a denser, cleaner surface that can accept catalytic, emissivity or colored glazes. The square monolithic shape lets OEMs embed it in burner fronts, VOC devices, small RTO/RCO chambers or visible heater panels where appearance and coating adhesion are both important.
High-temperature corundum body – suitable for 1300–1400 °C hot zones, better than low-density ceramics.
Coating-friendly surface – controlled porosity and smoothness for catalytic, protective or decorative layers.
Square, modular form – 150×150 mm panel fits into heater/burner/windows without complex machining.
Decorative + functional – can be left natural, or glazed/colored to match equipment design.

Catalytic / wash-coat substrate for VOC, CO or odor-removal units that run at higher temperatures than cordierite can comfortably handle.
Visible burner and heater fronts that must keep a stable ceramic color/shape under open flame or IR radiation.
Fireplace, BBQ, patio-heater panels where the OEM wants a better-looking corundum ceramic but still needs functional air/heat passages.
Glazed, colored or logo ceramic modules for premium gas appliances, medical/lab heating equipment or small RTO/RCO units.
Protective ceramic shields around hot air outlets, test chambers, pilot furnaces and process windows.
Mixed systems where the rear section is cordierite (lightweight) and the front, visible or coated section is high-alumina/corundum.
Q1: What kinds of coatings can this corundum honeycomb accept?
It is suitable for common catalytic wash-coats (Pt/Pd/Rh systems), high-emissivity coatings, and decorative/glaze layers used on gas appliances.
Q2: Do we need surface pretreatment before coating?
Normally only dust removal and light cleaning are needed, because the body is made with coating-friendly porosity (≈0.5–1.0%). If you use a special slurry, follow your own primer procedure.
Q3: Can it run in a second firing after we apply our slurry?
Yes. The corundum body is designed for high-temperature zones (to about 1400 °C), so a secondary firing for fixing the coating is acceptable if the curve is controlled.
Q4: Will the color stay stable under flame or IR?
Compared with cordierite, corundum keeps shape and color better at high temperature, so it is more suitable for visible heater/burner fronts.
Q5: Can we combine this coatable panel with a different honeycomb in the same unit?
Yes. Many OEMs put corundum in the hot/visible/coated position and use lighter cordierite blocks in the rear to save weight and cost.
